I live in the Pacific Northwest and recently had conversations with two real estate agents we know. Both were aware that not only are people from dry states moving into our area, so are the Chinese — just as they did in Vancouver when Hong Kong was turned over to China by the British. This is all part of the Migration Trend I have both predicted and described in SR over the last 15 years when I first saw data suggesting it.

Phi Beta Iota: The nine states are Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah. We find it criminally insane for the state and federal authorities to have refused to address this problem in the last decade — by now they could have multiple water desalination plans set up in partnership with California, Oregon, and Washington, as well as Mexico — $25M a year buys a single plant that can distill 5 million gallons a day, over time each state should have multiple pipelines delivering 50 million gallons a day, while also embracing all forms of water conservation including the elimination of fracking, animal husbandry, and almonds, among other water intense industries of questionable value going into the future. The lack of intelligence with integrity at all levels is a betrayal of the public trust. Water is one of the twelve core policy areas and has been so identified since 2006 by Earth Intelligence Network.
