5.0 out of 5 stars Demands Careful Reading, A Capstone Book that Emphasizes BALANCE, April 21, 2014

I read this book at the same time as Cyntia Sue Larson's Quantum Jumps: An Extraordinary Science of Happiness and Prosperity and E. Graham Howe as edited by William Stranger, The Druid of Harley Street: The Spiritual Psychology of E. Graham Howe. In line to be read as part of this series is also Guy Muchie's The Seven Mysteries of Life: An Exploration of Science and Philosophy.

This is by no means an easy read but its bottom-line (bearing in mind that the author has been writing many books on this theme, this is the latest) is clear: Sound Mind in a Sound Body. Others would add Sound Soul and Sound Heart at well. In other words, the mind is carried in the host, the body, and the totality of the nervous system, the skeletal system, the muscle system, the bio-chemical soup system, are all critical to how well the mind functions and how well the mind — including the unconscious — heals in the aftermath of trauma.

Search: why is the earth resilient to global war

Earth is resilient to Global War because only humans can wage global war, and done right, global war wipes out the human species.  Earth could care less.  It's only our ego that places “us” at the center of the Earth.  To truly be the center of the Earth, and of the Cosmos, we must achieve Conscious Evolution or Integral Consciousness, and we must do so in time to stave off the total collapse of human-nurturing Earth systems circa 2050.  Below is the poem by Philip Levine that opened our second book  2002 THE NEW CRAFT OF INTELLIGENCE: Personal, Public, & Political.  Other references follow the poem.

Philip Levine

For the longest time I have been carrying this thin volume of poems with me, as a solace and comfort item over the course a very interesting career in the Marines and the Central Intelligence Agency.

Below is a second volume I am adding to my briefcase, in French and English side by side.

Philip Levine is a warrior's poet. Here are nine lines from the poem PEACE:

One words go slowly out
and the sun burns
them before they
even speak. It is
as though the earth
were tired of our talk
and wanted peace, an end
to promises, perhaps an
end to us.
